As a pianist, composer, improviser, and passionate hang player, I constantly seek new paths and exciting musical adventures in my compositions. Every new composition is a musical journey of discovery for me. I always engage with the tension between tradition and avant-garde – making the past audible without abandoning it – with elements of Oriental music and jazz flowing in.

In the works of "Luminescence," much is connected with the desert and the four elements: on the one hand, my experiences in Arab countries and the Sahara, which have profoundly shaped me, and on the other hand, the inner "desert." My compositions are a mirror of personal emotional life circumstances. Esther Flückiger

Vita A (2017) – Hang & Piano Piano and hang meet one another. A continuous search and connection of overlapping moments in a polyphonic manner emerges. From this, new melodies, melodic fragments, and layers of rhythmic structures constantly grow.

Guarda i lumi (2017) – 5 Migrating Sound Images – Violin & Piano The starting point for this composition is engagement with the theme of migration. The entire composition is conceived as a unity without pauses. The title refers to the lights in everyday life, an allusion to the search for beauty, warmth, and peace in the tragedy of migrating people's lives.

In the Desert It Doesn't Rain (2018) – Saxophone & Piano Inspired by the story "The Well" by Somaya Ramadan, this composition for tenor saxophone and prepared piano was created. The work has a suite-like structure and is based on a multi-layered musical language that portrays the human sensitivity of a woman collecting dew drops in the desert.

Lume Universale Nell'aria Cadente (2015) – Violin, cello, Piano & Hang "Universal Light in Falling Air" is inspired by the writings of Leonardo da Vinci. Nature, in which we are so small, and its sounds inspire me for the opening motifs in the cello and hang, an imitation of the delicate sounds of wind and sand.

With Bow and Swarm (2017) – Prepared Piano A discrepancy between homogeneous and heterogeneous sound worlds emerges in this music for prepared piano. It is a great pleasure for me to coax sounds from the piano that seem electronically generated.

Drops I–III (2018) – Flute & Piano  |  Sound Symbols I–V (2018) – Piano I enjoy writing cycles that consist of short pieces. The "Drops" are like short prose; the narrative is left to the listener themselves. In the "Sound Symbols," in each piece a particular musical color is characteristic of the symbolic form.

Desert in Mood (2009) – Piano The title alludes to an experience that affected me deeply. At the beginning, delicate harp-like motifs sound like a tender female voice, from which a space of various episodes then develops. The seemingly bright beginning is like a symbol of hope and ends as a dark epilogue.
