The next PIANOVERSAL album features the Spanish-Swiss duo Urrestarazu-Lenzin. Saxophonist Elisa Urrestarazu and pianist Cornelia Lenzin have recorded music by Jacques Wildberger, Jost Meier, Balz Trümpy and Marcelo Nisinman. The album will be released in summer.
BASEL KOMPONIERT
With "Basel Composed," the duo Urrestarazu - Lenzin presents a multifaceted album of contemporary music from Basel.
Both the "Sonata" for saxophone and piano (2020) by Jost Meier and the composition "Samuel the Wise" (2021) by Marcelo Nisinman were written for the Urrestarazu-Lenzin duo and premiered on September 1, 2021 in Basel.
"Introduction and Aria" for solo saxophone (2003/2020) - originally composed for clarinet - was newly arranged by Balz Trümpy for Elisa Urrestarazu. This work is being recorded here for the first time. The "4 Images" (2009) for piano by Jost Meier is also a first recording.
The program is complemented with "Quattro Pezzi" (1950) for piano and "Prismes" (1975) for saxophone by Jacques Wildberger, who would have celebrated his 100th birthday in 2022.
The album "Basel Composed" will be released in summer.
